Active Schools

Mullingar ETNS has earned three Active flags in the past few years most recently in June 2025. The Active Flag is renewed every three years. An active school is a school where physical activity is valued and promoted and enjoyed by all. We engage in many active school flag initiatives throughout the year most recently the “Skip around the World” initiative.

We love to keep active and engage in a variety of programmes that help promote healthy living and physical activity. Our school also engages in the “Dare to Believe” programme. A programme that promotes physical activity and Olympic Values. We were selected in February 2025 to have Olympians Grainne Walsh and Fintan McCarty visit our school.

We run many active after school clubs including soccer, athletics and GAA. We also take part in a variety of sports competitions throughout the year including cross country, athletics and FAI.
