Communicating Europe Initiative

Our school received funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs to take part in this initiative.

We used the funding to take part in European Week of Sport 2024. All classes took part in different activities that focus on inclusion, well-being and belonging. The children used some new PE equipment to be active through playing games like Badminton, table tennis, obstacle courses, relay races, athletes, yoga and dancing on yard . The children made some amazing posters to celebrate European week of Sport in September.

4th classes took part in making art work that reflected on the EU and how all the countries are connected. The children used canvases to create languages and flags from across Europe.

2nd and 3rd classes had a visiting artist explore the countires of Spain and Denmark through human history, looking at some early works of people living in these coutries right up to  modern artists and piece of modern architecture.

Classes from 2nd to 6th created amazing projects based on countries they are studying in class as part of the curriculum.
