The Role of the Board of Management
Boards of Management of primary schools are appointed for a four-year term. If you are interested in volunteering as part of our board of management please contact the school.
The current Board of Management of Mullingar Educate Together is comprised of the Chairperson, the Principal, a Teacher Representative, Parent Nominees, Patron Nominees and Community Representatives.
The Board manages the school on behalf of the Patron and is accountable to the Patron and the Minister. The Board must uphold the characteristic spirit (ethos) of the school and is accountable to the Patron for so doing. The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, including the guidance and direction of the teachers and other staff of the school, and is accountable to the Board for that management.
The Governance Manual for Primary Schools was published in Autumn 2019 and is applicable for the current Board term. It can be accessed by clicking the link below.
